Buenos Aires, Argentina – Argentine President Javier Milei has expressed his support for the film “Homo Argentum,” starring and produced by Guillermo Francella. On his X account, Milei praised the film, describing it as a “mirror of the dark and hypocritical agenda of the ‘progres caviar’.” According to the president, the film exposes the “woke” or “zombie” agenda, whose followers he describes as “envious, resentful, liars, hypocrites, and ignorant,” especially in economic matters.
The Infobae article highlights that the film, directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, has stirred controversy on social media, with some critics remarking that the central characters represent the “garca, estafador, ventajero, chorro, chanta” Argentine (a ‘scoundrel, swindler, opportunist, thief, con artist’). However, Milei believes that the film’s success, achieved without state funding, is a sore point for those it portrays as “total and absolute failures.”
According to the publication, the president even screened the movie for his cabinet and for members of Congress as a way to illustrate the “cultural battle” he intends to wage. The film, with a unique structure of 16 independent stories where Francella plays 16 different characters, thus becomes a standard-bearer for the ideological confrontation promoted by the Milei government.
