On May 24, 2025, President Javier Milei announced a political alliance between his party, La Libertad Avanza (LLA), and the center-right Propuesta Republicana (PRO) in Buenos Aires Province. This coalition aims to contest the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for September and October.

In a radio interview, Milei expressed confidence in the alliance’s potential, stating, “We will go together in the Province of Buenos Aires, and we will win. We will win in September and in October.”

The President confirmed that José Luis Espert, a national deputy and economist, will lead the joint list as the primary candidate. Espert is expected to collaborate closely with national cabinet ministers to replicate the administration’s national achievements at the provincial level.

This alliance follows LLA’s recent success in Buenos Aires City, where Manuel Adorni secured 30.13% of the vote, surpassing other candidates.

Milei emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “What matters is goodwill. We adjust, we will find a way.” He also addressed past tensions with former President Mauricio Macri, affirming, “I have an excellent relationship; we may have differences, but I believe he still has things to contribute.”

The President criticized the current provincial administration under Governor Axel Kicillof, accusing it of policies that impoverish residents. He predicted a decisive victory for the LLA-PRO alliance, asserting, “We will give them a beating at the polls in September, again in October, and in 2027, we will win the province.”

This strategic partnership signifies a significant shift in Argentina’s political landscape, aiming to consolidate opposition forces against the ruling Peronist government in Buenos Aires Province.
