During his official visit to Budapest, Argentine President Javier Milei was awarded the “Civis Universitatis Honoris Causa” by Ludovika University, where he defined his administration’s core philosophy and celebrated record-breaking economic adjustments.

As part of an international agenda that included high-level meetings and his keynote participation at CPAC Hungary, President Javier Milei received one of the most prestigious academic honors in Budapest. The “Civis Universitatis Honoris Causa” was granted by Ludovika University in recognition of his intellectual contribution and leadership in the global defense of liberty.

The ceremony served as a platform for Milei to meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and President Tamás Sulyok, further solidifying the ideological brotherhood between the two nations.

Morality as a Pillar of Governance

In a powerful address to the university and the conservative forum, Milei introduced the central concept of his current management: Morality as State Policy.

“Today I come to speak to you about a fundamental concept of our government… I am talking about morality as State policy. What is morally correct—the defense of life, liberty, and property—always comes first, and political calculation always comes last.”

Quoting Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it”), the President argued that his administration has spent the last two years reversing a century of Argentine decline caused by the disregard for private property and uncontrolled currency printing.

Defending the “Largest Adjustment in History”

The President used the international stage to highlight the progress of his economic program:

  • Historic Cuts: Milei claimed to have executed the largest public spending adjustment in human history during his first month in office.

  • 30% Spending Reduction: He specified that public spending has been reduced by 30% in real terms under his watch.

  • Crushing Inflation: Having inherited a country with over 200% inflation on the brink of hyperinflation, he noted that current rates are hovering around 30% annually, with the ultimate goal of “exterminating” it entirely.

A Global Call to Action

Milei praised Hungary as a “beacon of courage” for choosing what is right over what is “politically correct” in the eyes of the global establishment. Addressing Viktor Orbán directly, he expressed his “personal brotherhood and mutual admiration,” calling the Hungarian leader an indispensable voice for the future of Europe.

Accompanied by Karina Milei and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, the President concluded his tour with his signature rallying cry, before preparing for his return flight to Buenos Aires.
