Buenos Aires, Argentina – In a historic event, President Javier Milei presented the 2026 budget in a national broadcast, an act that consolidates the path of fiscal order and growth with liberty for Argentina. The message, recorded in the Blue Room of the Casa Rosada, was attended by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, and deputy José Luis Espert.

During his speech, President Milei emphasized the importance of fiscal balance as the cornerstone of his government’s plan. He celebrated the economic achievements of his administration, including the sustained reduction of inflation, a decrease in poverty, and tax cuts. According to the president, the most difficult part of the economic struggle is over, and he thanked the Argentine people for their immense support in this process.

The budget also includes a Reciprocal Obligation Extinction Regime, designed to restore the relationship between the state and the provinces. As for the allocations, Milei detailed significant increases: a 5% real increase for pensions, 17% for health, 8% for education, and 5% for disability pensions. He also highlighted an increase of 4.8 trillion pesos for national universities, stressing that human capital is a priority.

The president also addressed the private sector, announcing that the primary surplus would allow the public sector to finance private infrastructure projects. Additionally, he announced the creation of a simplified regime for income tax refunds, with the goal of restoring the presumption of fiscal innocence for citizens. With these measures, the government seeks to strengthen stability and lay the foundation for sustained economic growth.
