Buenos Aires, Argentina – In a speech delivered from the La Libertad Avanza bunker in La Plata, President Javier Milei addressed the victory of the Peronist party in the legislative elections of the province of Buenos Aires. He acknowledged the result as a “clear defeat” and an “electoral setback,” though he attributed the opposition’s triumph to the efficiency of a 40-year-old political apparatus.
Despite the loss, the president maintained a firm and defiant stance, assuring that there would be no retreat from his government’s policies. On the contrary, he declared that his administration’s course would be accelerated. In this regard, Milei called for a “profound analysis” and “sincere self-criticism” to correct any strategic errors and continue to advance his agenda.
The president framed the results in Buenos Aires as a starting point for the more important national legislative elections to be held on October 26th. The central message of his speech was an unbreakable commitment to redouble his efforts and his political direction, despite the adverse electoral outcome in the key province.
