Buenos Aires, Argentina – The government of President Javier Milei, through the Ministry of Human Capital, has announced a new and comprehensive program called “Beneficios ANSES” aimed at boosting the purchasing power of over seven million Argentine retirees and pensioners. Beginning in September, this initiative will provide a system of discounts and refunds at major supermarkets and a wide range of participating businesses across the country.

The program’s core benefit is a 10% discount on general supermarket purchases, with no limit on the refund. In addition, some stores will offer a special 20% discount on perfumery and cleaning products. This is designed to provide immediate and tangible financial relief to a key segment of the population. Beneficiaries can easily access these savings by using the debit card on which they receive their pension payments.

With more than 7,000 participating stores, including major chains like Carrefour, Chango Más, and Coto, the government is confident this program will not only help retirees but also stimulate commercial activity. The initiative is structured to achieve these goals without any additional cost to the state, as the discounts are the result of direct agreements with private companies that gain access to a large and consistent market of consumers.

In a special partnership with the Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA), an extra 5% refund will be offered on purchases for retirees who receive their payments through the bank, with a monthly cap of $20,000. This collaboration further enhances the program’s value. The BNA will also provide a daily remuneration equivalent to a 32% TNA on account balances up to $500,000, creating a “virtuous circle” that benefits retirees, strengthens consumption, and maintains fiscal responsibility.
