Buenos Aires, Argentina – La Libertad Avanza and the PRO have reached an electoral agreement to run together in the upcoming elections in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA). This pact, the result of a rapid negotiation, was led by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and former president Mauricio Macri.

A key point of the agreement is that the PRO will secure the fifth and sixth positions on the list of deputies. However, this participation is contingent on them removing any symbolic references from the ballot, such as the party name and the color yellow, in line with a previous agreement in the province of Buenos Aires. Mauricio Macri personally handled the negotiation for CABA, a different approach from the Buenos Aires negotiations where he delegated the role to deputy Cristian Ritondo. This time, he chose not to involve Jorge Macri, who, according to the article, maintains a distant relationship with the Milei family and is unwilling to share a ballot for national elections.

Furthermore, the list for the Senate would be composed entirely of candidates from the La Libertad Avanza party, with the possibility that Minister Patricia Bullrich could top it, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. The negotiation, according to some members of Macri’s circle, was seen as a strategy to avoid a possible third place in the elections.
